72-Hour Rule Will Affect Camps: Be Prepared

The BSA has announced new policies to ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements. Prepare your staff and volunteers to address them before June 1, 2018:

  • Effective June 1, 2018, adults accompanying a Scouting unit who are present at the activity for 72 total hours or more must be registered as a leader, including completion of a criminal background check and Youth Protection Training. The 72 hours need not be consecutive.

Background Check Required for all adults:

Michigan requires a Background Check Form for the state in which you reside.

If you have completed this form in the years 2010 to 2018, you do not need to do so again.

Use the links below and send to Sarah Carpenter at the LaSalle Council office.  Call Sarah at 574-289-0337 ext. 309 or email at sarah.carpenter@scouting.org if you have questions about these required forms.
