About the Iron Horse
The Iron Horse Hike is hosted and run by the Sakima Lodge Order of the Arrow.  The Order of the Arrow is the Boy Scouts of America national camping honor society.  Sakima Lodge uses this event as a fund raiser to support Lodge operations, our annual Friends of Scouting (FOS) donation to the Council and to fund various camping related programs and projects at Council properties that we support each year.

The Hike began in 1990 as an opportunity for scouts to come together for a day and hike a trail. It has grown from several hundred hikers that year to almost 4000 a few years ago.  Last year we had over 1300 registered participants. Wow! We are now the largest single day scouting event in the state of Indiana. It has grown to include not just Scouts, but also family and friends. Everyone is invited to attend. Bring a friend! Bring your family!
