Important!!!!!!

The Wood Lake Conservation Committee is working with the Department of Agriculture in an effort to stop the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer. We are no longer allowing firewood to be brought into the reservation. All firewood brought on the reservation will be burnt immediately. Thank you for helping us keep a healthy forest.

 

             Rules:

1} Please park all vehicles in main parking lot.

2} all buildings except for the one you have rented are off limits.

3} do not mark, embellish, or drive nails or screws into building.

4} do not cut any standing trees without Rangers permission.

5} please stay on camp property.

6} you may build fires in designated fire ring only. Never leave a fire

      Unattended, you must post a fire watch.    

7} Fish in the fishing area only, do not fish in the swimming area. You must have an adult on the waterfront to fish. You do need a Michigan fishing license. Please fill out the creel survey. Ice fishing is done at your own risk. Stay off the pier.

8} do not bring firewood to the camp. Any wood down on the ground is yours to use as firewood.

9} winter hydrants are pressure systems, do not pump the handle. Just gently pull handle down for water. Gently raise handle to shut water off. To keep unit from freezing, you must drain 2 gal of water each time used. So fill your water jug, and use water from jug. When jug is empty, take it to the hydrant and fill. Do not use hydrant for personal hygiene or for water needs less than 2 gal.

Before Leaving:

1} Please sweep and mop the floors, put tables and bunks back into place.

2} Dump trash at dumpsters behind Trading Post, and close lid.

3} pick up trash in and around area.

All wildlife is protected. There are a number of threatened and endangered species on the property [plants and animals].

Remember

Take nothing but memories,

Leave nothing but footprints,

Kill nothing but time.

    Rules for use of Campsites 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

1). All vehicles must be parked in the main parking lot, or designated area.

        Vehicles may not remain in campsite. This is National Policy.

2). All buildings are off limits.

3). Do not mark, carve, paint, and drive nails or screws and staples into any    

         building or trees.

4). Do not cut any standing tree without Rangers permission.

5). Please stay on camp property at all times.

6). Build fires in the provided fire ring only. Never leave a burning fire

       Without posting a fire watch.

7). Make sure all trash is taken to the dumpsters before you retire. Do not feed the wildlife.

8). Make sure no trash is put in Port-a-Pot / Latrine.

9). do not bring firewood to the camp. Any wood down on the ground is yours to use as firewood.

10). Stay off the pier.

 

                                     Before Leaving:

1). Make sure your fire is dead out.

2). Make sure all trash in and around the campsite is taken to the dumpster.

3). Let the Campmaster or Ranger know that you are ready to check out.
