Facility Information for Wood Lake Scout Reservation
Wood Lake Scout Reservation is comprised by two major camps.
Camp Tamarack- Camp Will Welber
All reservations are made through the Council Service Center
Camp Tamarack is approximately 80 Acers and is the summer camp facility located on the north side of Big and Little Wood Lake. Tamarack has 16 campsites, 3 winter lodges, 16 staff cabins, main shower house, staff shower house, health lodge, directors lodge, dining hall, cooks cabin, quarter master/trading post, handicraft building, conservation pavilion, rifle range, archery range, waterfront, athletic field and parade field. The water supply is winterized (no water in campsites or buildings) by Oct. 15th and recharged by May 1. Winter water is available at 3 frost proof hydrants located outside the 3 winter lodges.
Winter Lodges; Rotary Lodge, O.A. Lodge and Blair Lodge are identical in size and are rented from the weekend after Labor Day to the weekend before Memorial Day. Each lodge sleeps 24 people in 12 bunk beds with mattress. Water is available at winter hydrants located outside each lodge. The lodges are heated with a propane furnace. No stove, refrigerator, cooking utensils or bedding is provided. Restrooms are outside pit latrines, or a short walk to the main shower house. The lodge sleeping area is 26'X31' with tables in the center of the room. The food preparation area is 7'X9' with 2 counter tops and 15a GFCI receptacles.
