Popcorn Pickup - A BIG THANK YOU!
...to all of you that participated in
the Popcorn distribution on Friday , September 23th. Your
patience and your unsolicited assistance made an otherwise
difficult task into just another thing that the folk's
of Dunes Moraine have accomplished 100% (with class as always).
Your patience allowed us to distribute 35 pallets of popcorn to 16
units without
error and that's amazing. We were just 2 cases of popcorn short due to
damage. Special thanks to Alan Mayernik, Ann Ballinger,
Ed Witte, and the Malcolm family and all the unit Popcorn people who pitched in to
make Scouting happen. Finally an extra special thanks to
Paul Burczak and the folks at Rexam who have continually exceeded
all expectations in every way imaginable in order to help us out. YOU
FOLKS ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST!

Dunes Moraine
-
What is it?
In Porter County we are
standing on a flat bit of earth
upon which two things have been piled:
The piles of till, called "moraines", tell
the story of advancing glaciers that deposited them in conveyor-belt fashion.
The sand piles, called
"dunes", tell the story of a lake that shrank by stages after the glaciers
disappeared. The glaciers had pushed south; the lake receded northward.
If you'd like to know more, visit the the Indiana National Lakeshore or

The Dunes Moraine District Patch reflects geology of our district.
