What is Wood Badge?
Wood Badge is the premier training program for all Scout leaders in the Boy Scouts of America. This includes all Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity and Venturing Leaders, as well as Professional Scouters. Wood Badge is designed to train adult volunteers using the latest leadership skills and techniques. It is a once-in-a-lifetime training experience.

Objectives of Wood Badge
As a result of attending Wood Badge, participants will be able to:
star View Scouting globally, as a family of interrelated, values-based programs that provide age-appropriate activities for youth.
star Recognize the contemporary leadership concepts utilized in corporate America and leading government organizations that are relevant to our values-based movement.
star Apply the skills they learn from their participation as a member of a successful working team.
star Revitalize their commitment by sharing in an overall inspirational experience that helps provide Scouting with the leadership it needs to accomplish its mission on an ongoing basis.
star Scouting is a game with purpose, and hence expect to have a lot of FUN.

Course Delivery
The Wood Badge course is delivered over six days, usually two weekend camps of three days each. After the first weekend, there will be a gap of at least two weeks before the second part of the course begins."

The Wood Badge course may also be conducted as a continuous six-day course.
