Response to Southern Asia Disaster

The Boy Scouts of America offers its deepest sympathies to the families and citizens of the countries in Asia that were struck by the disastrous earthquake and resulting tsunami.

We have learned that several Scouting organizations in these countries have experienced great losses as well.  We join the world in offering our prayers and support during this very difficult time.

How You Can Help!

Helping other people at all times is at the core of the Boy Scouts of America.  Through more than nine decades, the BSA has collaborated with its chartering organizations to meet needs as they arise.  Here are some ways that you can assist the victims of this tragedy:

·         Support the efforts of disaster relief/housing recovery organizations such as the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org), The Salvation Army (www.salvationarmyusa.org), and Habitat for Humanity International (www.habitat.org).  Each of these organizations offers opportunities for financial donations on their Web sites.  Local offices of these organizations may provide you with other opportunities for donations of needed items.

Contributions can be made by sending a check along with a letter designating the gift to be used for Scout groups affected by the tsunami to:
